About me

Bev Fellows (BAA, RECE) is the founder and of Neighbourhood Outreach for Kids Elgin (NOK). She is a visionary with an unfettered calling in service to children, youth, and families. Bev has a long history of working to bring community resources to vulnerable neighbourhoods.

Bev has dedicated most of her life to fighting, advocating, delivering, and championing programs and services for children, youth, and families in St. Thomas and across Elgin County, Ontario, Canada. She leads the team at NOK, which works in a new, creative, and innovative way to create real change in how children and youth are supported. Bev is noted for reminding people to always find something to laugh about, even during difficult times. She founded NOK along with her co-founder Sarena McLean (Organizational Development Officer & Evaluation Consultant) and developed NOK's innovative mobile, pop-up program and service delivery model in response to challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and the limitations of static physical spaces. This model allows NOK to reach more vulnerable communities and "immediately pivot to connect and bring in additional resources to meet those needs".

As Executive Director, Bev leads the day-to-day operations of NOK, ensures open communication, and works with her team to identify and meet the needs of neighbourhoods. Bev's leadership, combined with the team's experience and skills, allows NOK's mobile and virtual model to wrap around children, youth, and families wherever they are. She believes that good people can come together to ethically and responsibly self-govern with the true intention to serve children and youth. Bev envisions building autonomous, healthy, thriving communities and helping children and youth be 'leadership-ready'.
